Show GRADE SCHOOL NOTES SIXTH GRADE Our Gym Course In our school we are going to have a gym class. We hope to start next week sometime. We will try to have it once a week for about 45 minutes a turn, which will be fine. Mr. Heslington and Mr. Miller are trying to arrange it so that the boys from the fifth and sixth grades can go together and also the girls of these grades the same. Jioss Cottrell. Our First Aid Course Our sixth grade class is going to take a first aid course. The school nurse, Mrs. Cannon, will teach us how to bandage cuts and bruises. At the end of tihe year we will have an examination exercise. If we pass the test we will get a Red Cross certificate that shows we are able to give first aid. We will have two classes a week. I tfhink the classes will be held 45 minutes each time. Kathleen Kesler. Tlhe New Building The building is surely going up fast. They have started laying bricks. We learned yesterday how they kept the walls even. ; They have a board about four feet long, two inches thick and four inches wide. The; lay this level along the wall to make sure it is even. We also learned what they made the mortar with. They make it with lime, water, sand and a brown coloring. They .put the coloring in it so it will matdh the color of the tan bricks. Mordell Lund. Our .Study Would you like to know what we are studying about in school ? We are studying about Greek wars. We are now studying about the Peloponnesus war. This war was fought between the Greek cities. After the battle of Thermopyloe and the city of Athens was :burn-ed, :burn-ed, the people built a bigger and more beautiful city. This made the Spartans angry because other Greek colonies were following the example of the Athenians. The Spartans wanted the other colonies to follow her example.
