Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Connell spent last week-end in St. George, having gone there on account of the illness of Mrs. Connell's father, fa-ther, Pete VV'ulf unstein. Mrs. J. H. Weston returned home Thursday morning after spending several days in Salt Lake City at the home of her son Kenneth. Ken-neth. She was called there on account of the illness of the two children of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Weston. iSergeant Gordon W. Murdock payroll clerk with the 301st bombardment bom-bardment squadron a t Geiger field near Spokane, Washington, is enjoying a visit with his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Murdock, and other relatives and friends. ' One hundred fifty invitations to "Dance at Paradise Isle," have been mailed by members of the 1942 Junior class of the Milford high school and a gala affair is planned for Friday night, April 10, in the high school gymnasium. A good time is promised. ' Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr. entertained enter-tained her bridge club at her home last Thursday evening. Those present pre-sent were Mrs. Sam Cline, Mrs. J. H. Weston, Mrs. Gene Kirk, Mrs. George Moore, Mrs. E- L. Smith, Mrs. D. S. Williams and Mrs. Murray Wing. The prizes were received by Mrs. Cline, Mrs. Weston and Mrs. Kirk. 1 v Mrs. E. B. Hewitt and daughter Edris spent the week-end in Og-den Og-den and Huntsville, visiting relatives rela-tives and friends. Martin returned 1 Wednesday from Ogden, where she visited with her daughter, 'Mrs. Ray Fisher. Mr. Fisher is i n o w employed at the Ogden ; arsenal under civil service, following follow-ing his return to Utah after similar employment at Rock Island, Illinois and Portsmouth, i Virginia. i Mrs. Martin Corn entertained her bridge club last Thursday with Mrs. Thomas Campbell winning win-ning the prize for high points and Mrs. Earl Stonehocker for high honors, while Mrs. A. A. Mc-Intyre Mc-Intyre . received the consolation Urize. Others present were Miss 'Gladys Coleman, Mrs. Carl Yount, Mrs. Lloyd Kohler, Mrs. Tom Ack-lon Ack-lon and Mrs. Lucille McClelland. Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Lyman have joined the ranks of proud grand-1 parents with the birth of a 7-pound 7-pound girl to Mr. and Mrs. Ward Thompson Tuesday morning at the Milford hospital. Mrs. Thompson is the former Miss Faye Lyman, a graduate of the Milford high school, while Mr. Thompson, formerly for-merly of Minersville, is a fireman fire-man for the Union Pacific. The Monday Night Bridge club was entertained at the home of Mrs. J. M. Hughes March 30. Those present were Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen, Mrs. J. C. Smith, Mrs. J. M. Williams, Mrs. D. S. Williams, Mrs. Gene Kirk, Mrs. M. H. Pool and Mrs. William Cochrane. Mrs. Smith was the winner of the club prize, Mrs. Cochrane the house prize and 1f.r$. D. S. Williams the high honors prize. The Athletic club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Ache-son Ache-son Saturday night. Those present pre-sent were Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Bingham, Bing-ham, Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Outzen, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. John Burgoyne and Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Fisher. Bridge was enjoyed en-joyed during the evening with Mr. and Mrs. Smith winning the high score prizes while Mrs. Outzen and Mr. Burgoyne received the consolation con-solation prizes. Mrs. Ross Baxter entertained her bridge club Friday evening. The members present were Mrs. William Morris, Mrs. Otto Steen-bock, Steen-bock, Mrs. James Holm, Mrs. W. E. Martin, Mrs. Vern Shingleton, and Mrs. Tan n is Strofeld. Mrs. Ed Bardsley and Mrs. Fred Jefferson were guests. Prizes were given to Mrs. Morris, Mrs. Holm and Mrs. Shingleton, also to Mrs. Bardsley and Mrs. Jefferson. The favors were corsages of beautiful spring flowers. The birthday of Mrs. Martin was observed in connection con-nection with the party and she received re-ceived many, beautiful gifts. v |
