Show High School Notes The students of the Milford High school were organized into girls' and boys' organizations for the purpose of furthering school activities. In each group were chosen a president, vice-president, secretary and one representative from each grade. These groups will sponsor activities for Girls' day and Boys' day as well as other worthwhile programs. Blair Coon, a Junior and center on the basketball team, was elected elect-ed captain for 1943 by the fellow members of this year's team last Wednesday in a farewell meeting for the team. Lindsay Wadding-ham Wadding-ham was elected co-captain by being the second highest in votes. The squad of 1942 wishes him all the Tuck in the world next year and we know that he can bring us through with glory. Gerald Hick- man, captain of the 1942 team, b has been an inspiring leader and has shown fine sportsmanship. A program assembly on dental hygiene wa presented March 23 at the Milford high school. The program was given to stress the importance of dental hygiene in connection with the physical fitness fit-ness program. R. C. Dalgleish, D. D. S., pointed out the fact that 21 percent of service . men have been rejected because of bad teeth. It is the duty of every American citizen to take dental hygiene seriously. Dr. Dalgleish, ably assisted as-sisted by Verda Y. Heffner, R. N., explained the danger of mouth diseases and how to prevent them. A film, "The Value of a Smile," was shown as a pattern for all of us to follow in the care of our teeth. This program, presented by the Utah state department of health, was of great value to the students. 6. Vegetables are mostly water. 7. Cultivation is just weed-chlopping. weed-chlopping. 8. Plan next year's garden this year. , j This war has brought home to all of us the fact that proper nutrition nu-trition is the bed-rock of the nation, na-tion, and that a Victory garden for every family is the way to a nutritionally sound nation! . v |
