Members of the Monday night Jiridfre club met at the home of Mrs. M. H. Pool March 22. Prizes at 'bridge were received by Mrs. J. C. Smith, Mr-;. J. M. Hughes, Mrs. J. M. 'Williams and Mrs. F. liiiiffham. Others present were Mrs. William Co-Inane, Mrs. Rudolph Ru-dolph Nielsen - anil Mrs. David S. Williams.' Mrs. D. A. Baxter was hostess to members of the Past Matrons club at her home Tuesday evening. Those present were Mrs. L. G. Clay, Mrs. William Cochrane, Mrs. J. M. Williams, Mrs. Vena Wilson, Miss Gladys Gospill, Mrs. I. Altman and Mrs. W. H. Hendrick-son. Hendrick-son. Uriel ire was enjoyed during the evening with Mrs. Altman and Mrs. Williams receiving the high score prizes. Mrs. Victor L. Davies and baby son are here from Salt Lake City for a visit with home folks and friends. Mrs. Davies is the former Miss Madge Moody, daughter of High School Principal and Mrs. E. R. Moody. Jack Kirk, Wallace Hughes and Harvey Voorhees came home from Logan last Thursday for several days' visit. Jack and Wallace returned re-turned to their studies at the U. S. A.C. while Harvey remained in Milford, expecting to be called into service soon. With "DayBreak" as the theme and a talented group of young-' young-' sters to work it out in a most 'colorful manner, the Milford high I school Junior Promenade promises to be the biggest social event of the year. It is set for Friday of next week, April 2 and dancing is to begin at 9 o'clock. Mrs. W. G. White entertained at a six o'clock dinner in honor of the birthdays of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dearden. The talble was beautifully beauti-fully decorated in honor of the occasion oc-casion and the guests of honor received re-ceived some very nice presents. Other guests were Mrs. A. J. Raines, Mrs. H. D. Spencer, Mrs. Kenneth Smith, Mrs. Arvid John-on John-on and Mrs. Marie Fouts. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. T.aug-hter and daughter Eleanor of Ogden arrived in Milford Saturday for a short visit and were house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ferguson, Mrs. Laughter and Mrs. Mrs. Ferguson being sisters. The Laughters just recently returned from a visit to the San Francisco bay area, where they visited with MeCoy Williams, aviation machinist's machin-ist's mate at the Alameda naval air base, but lost out in an expected expect-ed visit with Nolan Williams, who was in Miliord for a visit at the time. Sergeant James Angell, who j crime up from his infantry unit at I Gilroy, California to get acquaint-! acquaint-! ed with the baby boy born last j week to Mrs. Ar.gell at Cedar (City, visited local relatives and : friends this mid-week. Mrs. An'ireil is the former Josephine Holt of Enterprise, local beauty shop operator. Mrs. George Jefferson entertained enter-tained members of her bridge club Wednesday evening with Mrs. L. F. Kohkr winning high score prize, Mrs. Vic Carlson second high score prize and Mrs. Jefferson Jeffer-son third high score prize. Others present were Mrs. Harold Cline, Mrs. K. B. Coon, Mrs. Thomas Gerrard, Mrs. R. W. Acheson and Mrs. Frank Leffler. Mrs. J. H. Weston was hostess to her bridge club members Thursday Thurs-day of last week. Those present were Mrs. J. R. Mudock jr., Mrs. Sam Cline, Mrs. David S. Williams, Wil-liams, Mrs. E. L. Smith, Mrs. Myricn Lewis, Mrs. George Moore and Mrs. Powell Smyth. The prize for high points was won by Mrs. Smith and for high honors by Mrs. Moore, while Mrs. Mur-d Mur-d o c k i-eeeived the consolation prize. Commemorating the 50th anniversary anni-versary of the dedication of the Salt Lake L. D. S. temple, a special spe-cial program will be given at the Milford L. D. S. chapel Sunday evening, February 28. The program pro-gram is being sponsored by the ward genealogical society and will consist of musical numbers and interesting talks. Similar programs pro-grams will be presented in alb wards of the church and the public is cordially invited to attend. V |
