Show CHRIST1ANSCIENCE "Mind" is the subject of the lesson-sermon in First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Milford, on Sunday, August 25. The Golden Text is: "Who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ" (I Corinthians Corin-thians 2: 16). Embodied in the Biblical texts in the lesson-sermon is the following: follow-ing: "Great is our Lord, and of ' jrreat power: his understanding- is infinite (Psalms 147: 5). For though there be that are called ' irods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be pods many, and lords many,) But to us there is tut one God, the Father, of whom are all thing's, and we in him" (I Corinthians 8: 5,C). Included are the following cor-! cor-! relatives from the Christian Science textbook "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Scrip-tures" by Mary Baker Eddy: "Mind is God. We can have but one Mind, if that one is infinite. We lose the high signification of omnipotence, when after ailmit-tin ailmit-tin that God, or good, is omnipresent omni-present and has all-power, we still believe there is another power, named evil (p. 4fi9). Infinite In-finite Mind cannot be limited to a finite form, or Mind would lose its infinite character as inexhaustible inexhaust-ible Love, eternal Life, omnipotent omnipot-ent Truth" (p. 257). o |
