Show jfjDCclllir Mis. I.avern Parsons loft Sunday Sun-day for a visit with her mother at Leamington. Mrs. 0. A. Steenbock returned Sunday from Genola, where she was called on account of the death of her sister. Mr. and Mrs. Don Young are down from Provo, visiting Mrs. Young's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. McCulley, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Whiting left Monday for their home in Springdale, after visiting with Mr. and Mrs. James Holm. Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Mills of Salt Lake City returned home Wednesday after visiting a few days at the home of Mrs. Mills' sister, Mrs. Joe Rickerson. Mr. and Mrs. F. It. Levi left Monday for Salt Lake City, where Mr. Levi will transact business and Mrs. Levi will visit with their daughters, Phyllis and Dorothy. Mr. and Mrs. George Rogers were called to Cedar City last Wednesday where their son Roy was operated for appendicitis. At last report Roy was getting along fine. Mrs. George Moore entertained Friday nfternoon in honor of her sister, Mrs. Stan Tanner, of Los Angeles. Bridge was played and those enjoying the afternoon were Mesdames Horton, Eb Tanner, J. M. Hughes, Antone Johnson, La Mar Outzen, Nathan Smith and the guest of honor. Mrs. Hughes won the prize for high points and Mrs. Outzen received the consolation consola-tion prize. Deep plowing by tractor, $2.50 an acre. Communicate with Glen Marker, or through Dr. J. J. Weir. Mrs. H. M. Hearn returned Thursday morning from Ephraim, where she attended the funeral of her uncle, stopping off at Salt Lake City for several days visit with her mother, who is very ill. Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Johnson, Mrs. William Fernley and son Jim motored from Caliente Friday afternoon. The Johnsons went on in to Salt Lake by train while Mrs. Fernley and son remained as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Antone Johnson until Sunday. Miss Mildred Killam entertained entertain-ed her bridge club last Thursday night with Miss Norma White receiving re-ceiving high score prize and Miss Sarah Pool receiving consolation prize. Those present were the Misses Norma White, Lois Williams, Wil-liams, Sarah Pool, Margaret Cochrane, Coch-rane, Mary Banks and Mrs. Vergie Romick and Mrs. Cecil Killam. Miss Mary Banks entertained Monday night at a stork shower for Mrs. Pauline Bronson. Cootie was played during the evening with Mrs. Evan Lyman receiving the high prize and Miss Beth Coleman low score prize. Those present were Margaret Cochrane, Beth Coleman, Lucile Frazier, Mrs. Hazel Davis, Mrs. Lavern Davis, Marie Banks, Urs. James Mastros, Mrs. Charles McCulley, Mrs. Evan Lyman and Mrs. Letha Martin. A number of neighbors helped Mrs. William Cochrane celebrate her birth anniversary Monday afternoon. Bridge was played, after which dainty refreshments were served to the following guests: Mesdames L. G. Clay, W. 0. Carlson, William Dawson, William Wil-liam Morris, Myron Lewis, L. D. McFadden, Rudolph Nielsen, Ross Palmer, Gene Kirk and E. Myers. Mrs. Lewis won high score prize i and Mrs. McFadden consolation prize. The Friday night bridge club met at the home of Mrs. Gene Kirk last Friday night with Mrs. John Weston winning the prize for high' honors, Mrs. E. L Smith' the prize for high points, Mrs. William Cochrane the guest prize and Mrs. J. T. Fritzgerald receiv-; ing tiie consolation prize. Those; present were Mesdames M. P. Lewis, John Weston, George Moore, E. L. Smith, Lamar Out- zen, J. T. Fritzgerald, William' Cochrane and Stan Tanner of Los, Angeles. Mrs. D. S. Williams entertained j her bridge club and guests at her! home Monday evening. Contract bridge was played by the follow- ing women: Mesdames William Cochrane, Gene Kirk, John Williams, Wil-liams, J. M. Hughes, F. Kuchen-meister, Kuchen-meister, L. G. Clay, E. R. Moody, LaMar Outzen, George Fernley, Myron Lewis, Ed Peterson and I. Altman. Club high score prize was- won by Mrs. Cochrane and club consolation prize was received receiv-ed by Mrs. Kirk. Mrs. Fernley won high guest prize and Mrs. Peterson received consolation prize. . j Mrs. Walter L. Carlton and friends of Beaver spent a few-hours few-hours in Milford Saturday, visiting visit-ing and shopping. Mis. Carlton is, the wife of the editor of the Beaver Bea-ver Press, and reported Waller much improved after his long and painful siege of rheumatic fever. Mr. and Mrs. Kail Levi attended attend-ed a family reunion and dinner at ' Beaver Sunday. |
