Show Late Yuletide Observed By Orthodox Christians Conforming to the Julian calendar, calen-dar, thousands of Americans will not celebrate Christmas until January Janu-ary 7, 14 days behind the Gregorian calendar. These people are Russians, Rus-sians, Serbians, Armenians, Bulgarians, Bulga-rians, Syrians and Macedonians followers of the Christian Orthodox church. Greeks and Rumanians, also of the Orthodox church, mark Christmas on the Gregorian calendar calen-dar but adhere to the Julian calendar calen-dar in observance of Easter Sunday. |
