R. Parrish, first vice president; presi-dent; H. F. Chanslor, second vice president; M. P. Lewis, secretary; Lee C. Brown, treasurer; Dr. L. F. Kohler, tail twister; L. A. Wy-naught, Wy-naught, Lion tamer; L. G. Clay, M. H. Pool, George Jefferson and Sam Cline, directors. With the last steps in the interior in-terior decorating of the new theatre thea-tre underway, Clark Kesler, who was building a new showhouse, announced that the theatre, to be known as the "Victory" was to be opened the middle of June with a seating capacity of 325. Bill Cochrane, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Cochrane, of Milford had closed a successful year at Westminster college in Salt Lake City with his election to the office of president of the student body at that institution for the next year. Besides his election as president. ' he had gained prominence through his election to pilot the next year's basketball team and his office as president of the college dramatic association. One of the largest attended affairs af-fairs ever given in South Milford had been a party which marked the sixth anniversary of the Social iHour club. A delightful program of music and readings was enjoyed enjoy-ed with the following taking part: Mrs. Myron Hanchett, Miss Retta Murdock. Miss Margaret Cates. Parley Fisher, Dr. Addison Byfoee, Mrs. J. G. Weber and Mrs. Parley Fisher. Much of the success was due to the well-executed plans of the president, Mrs. Kent Smith. Promoters of the marble quarry at Newhouse had figured on starting start-ing work in June. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Moss of southern California Califor-nia and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ken-drick, Ken-drick, formerly of Burbank, were the parties chiefly interested in the project. A baby boy had- been born, May 18th, to Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Jones. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Johnston John-ston also were the proud parents oof a baby boy, bom May 18. Miss Bessie Killam had entertained enter-tained at a theatre party in honor of Miss Mae Kohler, who was leaving leav-ing for her home in Malad, Idaho, after having taught school here. Those present were Miss Maxine Bardsley of Berkeley, California, Miss Letha Cartwright, Miss Ar-villa Ar-villa Muir; Mrs. Lloyd Kohler and the guest of honor, Miss Mae Kohler. V |
