Show SITUATION xis seen ai the . jees Union ftock 'Jards Los Angeles Union Stock Yards. May 29. Supply seemingly is th? big factor in the present livestock ' market situation. Demand is apparently ap-parently .broad enough to take all meat offerings at around current ceiling levels and the only fly in the ointment appears to be the difficulty of processors to get the necessary packing house labor to kill and process the finished materials. ma-terials. A comparatively steady trade was noted the past week on the general run of meat animals though there were variations both ways, notably in bulls, veal calves heavy hogs and sows. Receipts of cattle on the Los Angeles market were virtually the same as for the preceding week but nearly double numbers offered for the corresponding period a year ago. Early trade was a little slow with buyers for packers moving cautiously. Later, under lighter supplies, the market 'picked 'pick-ed up a little better tone and most steers and female butcher stock cleared freely at prices differing dif-fering but slightly with closing period of the previous week. Some of the commoner grade steers however, were as much as 25c (Continued on last page) xr . LIVESTOCK NOTES (Continued Trom page J) lower in quite a few instances.
