Women Cooperate j In Signing Pledges l The house-to-house distribution ! of pledges, pledge symbols, and OPA community price lists, part ! of the national Home Front Pledge ! camlpaign being sponsored by the I local war price and rationing (board, will be completed in Mil-j Mil-j f ord within, a few days, according ! to Mrs. E. L. Smith, community ' service member of the local board. The campaign which is designed ' to give every consumer an oppor-j oppor-j tunity to join with her merchants, i her government and her neighbors in the home front fight against black markets and higher prices : has been enthusiastically received ! by local citizens, the board mem-i mem-i ber said. j "While the house-to-house distribution of the campaign material ma-terial will be completed shortly, the remaining feature-s of the campaign will continue for many weeks' the community service member said. , The board memiber emphasized that the really important part of the campaign begins after the pledge to "pay no more than top legal prices" and "accept no rationed goods without giving up ration stamps" has been signed and consumers and merchants conscientiously live up to that ; promise. I Consumers were reminded that they should kc-ep the price list , handy for reference ar.d to use it : while they shop. They were urged to discuss with their merchants any selling prices higher than tl-ose shown on the list. If the nu tter is not settle-d by such a, friendly discussion. they were urged to advise the local price centred panel, which will call the merchant in for a hearing of the complaint, giving him full opportunity oppor-tunity to present his position in the c:.e. |
