Show New Regulations Effective July 1st On and after July 1, 1941, every person marrying in the state of Utah must obtain a medical examination, ex-amination, including a startdard serological blood test for syphilis, from a physician and surgeon. The examination and blood test must be made within 15 days of the day the marriage license is issued. The following procedure is followed fol-lowed if the examination is made in Utah: The applicant first consults con-sults a physician for an examination examina-tion and blood test; the physician sends a specimen of the applicant's appli-cant's blood to an approved laboratory lab-oratory and the laboratory examines ex-amines the specimen, fills out the upper half of the certificate form, and transmits it, with a confidential confiden-tial report of the test, to the physician. phy-sician. After careful examination of the applicant and the laboratory labora-tory report, the physician completes com-pletes the certificate form and gives it to the applicant. The latter lat-ter then may present the completed complet-ed certificate form to the county clerk, who issues the marriage license, attaching to same the certificate forms of the contracting contract-ing parties.
