Show LET'S GO TO CHURCH! j (By Rev. Willis P. Miller) j In Milford the.re are many j church-members who seldom, if ever, attend a church service. In the whole United States, 75 percent per-cent of the population do not attend at-tend church on an average Sunday. Sun-day. With the entire nation spiritually spir-itually lax, it is up to the small town to start a back-to-God move. Can it begin in Milford? The world's greatest citizens have been church men: Burke (statesman), Mozarl (musician), Milton (poet), Bacon (philosopher), (philoso-pher), Blackstone (lawyer), Raphael Ra-phael (painter), Gladstone (statesman), (states-man), Thorwaldsen (sculptor), and Sir Ambrose Fleming (one of the greatest scientists of our day). If you miss three consecutive Sunday church services you can be put to death, according to an old law in Virginia. Will it take such a law to get Milford citizens to attend church? No matter what church you are a member of, be faithful to it. The church is not a convention to which a family should merely send a delegate, but an assembly which all should attend. Citizens of Milford, Mil-ford, awaken to your obligation and "Let's Go To Church!" |
