Show Legion, Auxiliary Elect New Officers For This District Paul E. Beecher, Beaver high school principal, formerly occupying occupy-ing the same position in the loca, school, was elected district commander com-mander of the American Legion at the annual district convention held at Milford Saturday. Ray Di Garner of Parowan was electee district vice-commander and these Legionaires will select a district adjutant. Mrs. S. Melvin Wittwer, also oi Beaver, was elected district president presi-dent of the Legion Auxiliary, with Mrs. RuJvfclph Nielsen of Milford as vice-chairman. The banquet given in the evening eve-ning at the Union Pacific dining room and attended by some 7o Legionnaires will select a district was an outstanding feature of the convention. Milford Post Commander Com-mander E. R. Johnson presided at the banquet and did an able jolb ot it. 'Prominent Legionnaires speaking speak-ing at the banquet included Ora Bundy of Ogden, state commander; command-er; Otto Wiesley of Salt Lake state adjutant; Howard Johns ot Fillmore, retiring district commander; com-mander; Mr. Beecher, incoming district commander; Mrs. Rowley retiring president of the Auxiliary and Mrs. Wittwer, incoming president presi-dent of the latter group. o |
