Olive John-' son, Loretta Murdock, Estelle Nebeker, Dorothy Levi and Betty Murdock1 had received honorable mention. Sam Cline, Mrs. A. J. j Atkin and Mrs. LaMar Outzen had ibeen the judges, with the essays having numbers on them instead of names. . ; Dr. C. R. Parrish had had the j misfortune to lose five head of ; fine dairy cuttle. Their death had i been caused by alfalfa bloat. j Miss Alice Ward, daughter of I Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ward of Mil-' ford, and Melvin Heslington, son j of Mr. and Mrs.. William Hesling. I ton of Greenville, had been mar- ried Saturday, May 19 at the ; Methodist parsonage by Reverend Homer E. Root. Mr. Heslington , was a member of the Milford pub lie school faculty and Miss Ward was a member of the Milford high i school graduating class. The "Follies", presented by the Milford Lions club members, had t been played two nights to packed houses. Deserving o f special praise was Del Gardo, as ballet dancer and bride in the wedding; also Kronholm, Clay, FoUrnier. and others. In fact, there was not a single lightweight in the entire cast. Jn recognition of the good performance per-formance of the degree team of the Milford Rebekahs, its captain, Mrs. Vena Wilson, had "been elected elect-ed grand conductor. This was the first time that a state office had been given to a Milford Re-bekah. Re-bekah. Mrs. Enria Gillies and Mrs. Grace Jefferson had gone to Og-den Og-den to attend the Business and Professional Women's club convention. con-vention. In a beauty contest at Westminster West-minster college in Salt Lake City, Miss Dtfrothy Murdock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Murdock of Milford, had been judged the winner. win-ner. . The most outstanding favorites favor-ites in the beauty contest were selected by the student body and the most beautiful one was selected select-ed by W. C. Jenks of Rochester, N. Y. Miss Murdock's photograph appeared on a full page of the schools yearbook). The Kappa Kappa boys' club ot the M. E." church had taken the Sunshine girls on a weiner roast in the Cedars. Those present were William Cochrane, William Stirling, Stirl-ing, George and Allan Davis, Glen . St0nehocker, Horace Palmer, Orma Devine, Margaret Cochrane, Margaret Mar-garet Williams, Betty Murdock, Beth Coleman, Helen Carlson and the Rev. and Mrs. Homer Root.
