Show High Honors Come To Local Women Milford was signally honored Sunday in Salt Lake City when two local women were named president and secretary of the Utah department, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. The annual an-nual election of the Auxiliary, held Sunday in the Newhouse hotel following impressive memorial memor-ial services, resulted in the election elec-tion of Mrs. Charles Decker of Milford as department president and the appointment of Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr. as department secretary. secre-tary. This is the second time this honor has come to Milford. Mrs. L. B. Waddingham served very efficiently ef-ficiently as state president in 1398-39, at which time Mrs. Decker Deck-er served as her secretary. Mrs. Wiaddingham since then has served serv-ed two terms as district president. Mrs. Waddingham, as past president, presi-dent, also was asked to install the new officers. .Further recognition for Milford in the department election came in t'be appointment of Mrs. 0. R. Smith as department chief of staff. But recognition of Mdlford was not confined to officer personnel. The Milford Auxiliary to Esca-lante Esca-lante Post No. 1546 received the annual membership award for the highest percentage gain, while Mrs. Decker received the award for securing more members than any other member in the state. Also, Milford came second in the Peninya-Sundayfor-Victory drive. The annnal encampment sessions ses-sions began on Friday with a department de-partment dinner at the Newhouse, Mrs. Decker being chairman. Saturday's, progtram consisted of routine business with the past presidents' luncheon at noon, Mrs. Waddingham acting as chairman. That evening the annual banquet for members and guests was given, with 275 present, this event ibeing featured by an excellent program given by members of the j Camp Kearns orchestra.
