Show jS&Ms LOOKING BACKWARD fSiOi-lff&z5 ' Items interest taken from the fifteen years ago, this week Word had been received that an oil well owned by George Jefferson, Jeffer-son, D. A. Baxter, Sam Cline and A. G. Burnham, all of Milford, had been brought in at about 550 feet after a brief 20 days drilling. The land on which this well was located lo-cated is near Virgin, in Washington Washing-ton county, and it was planned to spud about 50 wells on the land. , A carload of sand was found in our city water tank when 11 men had worked to clean it out. About three feet of sand and sediment was at the bottom of the tank, said Ted Kronholm, water master. As the result of a school election elec-tion for student body officers for the Milford high school, .William Ellinigsworth was chosen president, presi-dent, Estell Nebeker, vice president; presi-dent; Horace Palmer, secretary; Mel Heslmgton, treasurer, and Lawrence Webb, cheer leader. Doug Fotheringham had been gilvten the contract to fence the aviation field. Mrs. Bert Wynaught had gone to Palo Alto, California to spend the winter. Balbies had been born to the following Milford people: Mr. and Mrs. V. Waddoups, a girl on September Sep-tember 25; Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Smith, a boy, on September 15; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Muir, a girl, on September 8, and Mr. and Mrs. Wallce Outzen, a girl. The Misses Hannorai Hutchins and Loretta Murdock had been hostesses to the senior class and the high school faculty at a "Cootie" parity at the B. E. Hutchins Hutch-ins homie. Ralph Tanner had re-ceived re-ceived the first prize and J. M. Hughes the consolation prize. Some Milford folks had enjoyed a picnic in Beaver canyon. The group consisted of Mrs. Cross, Mrs. Walter Griffiths, Juanita Miller, Letha Schow, Lee Brown, Walter Griffiths and Vernon Burns. Mrs. Letha Martin had entertained enter-tained the C. H. club at the home of Mrs. Bert Carter. The time was spent sewing for a bazaar, and a delicious luncheon was served serv-ed by the hostess. Those present were Mrs. Hattie Root, Mrs. Julia Tate Mrs. Elizabeth Ferguson, MJrs. Corai Jones, Mrsi. Frances Hollis, Mrs. Mary McCulley, Mrs. Ethel Killam, Mrs. Kate Easton, Mrs. Kate Singleton, Mrs. J. Skinner, Skin-ner, Mrs. Charles Beard and Mrs. J. Carter. V |
