Mr. Hansen, instructor in landscape gardening at the L'tah Agricultural college, had ar-lived ar-lived in Milford to supervise the grading, making of lawns, plant-1 ing of trees and shrubs, and other- j wise beautifying the school! grounds. This laudable undertaking undertak-ing had been sponsored by the local Lions club and ladies of various vari-ous religious and fraternal organizations organi-zations had helped them. An epidemic of scarlet fever at Minersville had prevented the reopening re-opening of school there since teachers institute. Mr. and Mrs. William Ashworth were the proud parents of a baby boy, born October 26. Miss Garnitta Clements, 19 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clements, had died at the family home after a lingering illness ill-ness of more than two years. Mr. C. A. Trenholm had installed install-ed a new radio in his barber shop and 'had invited everyone to come in and hear it. A surprise handkerchief shower had been given Mrs. Charles New-hart New-hart in honor of her birthday. A dinner was served to Mr. and Mrs. George Fernley, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Murdock, Mr. and Mrs. Al Cline, Mr. and. Mrs. Myron Lewis, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Farmer, Mrs. Joe Kinney, Mrs. Erma Gillies, Eh-, and Mrs. W. W. Markham, Dr. Charles Parrish and Mr. and Mrs. Newhart. The Pierian club had met at the home of Mrs. W. W. Markham, The program for the evening was Halloween, where it originated, its superstitions and beliefs. Those present were Mrs. D. A. Baxter, Mrs. Ed Bardsley, Mrs. Bob Sherwood, Sher-wood, Mrs. George Litchfield, Mrs. Ida Steenbock, and Mrs. Vena Wilson. Mrs. W. W. Markham had entertained enter-tained in honor of the third birthday birth-day of the twins, Betty and Barbara. Bar-bara. The little guests were Marie Carlson, Audrey Raines, Phyllis Braun, Helen iCarlson, Charlotte Farmer, Bill Farmer and Jackie Grimshaw Mrs. Al Cline 'had entertained at a Halloween bridge party.
