Show I Mrs. K. R. Shannon was a Salt Lake visitor last week-end. Mrs. Reese Griffiths and daughter daugh-ter Jeanne of Minersville spent Saturday with Mrs. Otto C. Koch. Gene Kirk and Sam Cline returned re-turned home last Thursday from a few days business trip to Alma, Colorado. 'Miss Sue Moore of Provo returned re-turned to her home Sunday, after spending a few days here at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. M. i Williams. Mrs. M. M. Vincent was hostess to her sewing club Wednesday evening yith Mrs. Warren Atkin, Mrs. F. G. Stuck, Mrs. Roy White jr., Mrs. Frank White, Mrs. D. M. Edwards and Gertrude Dewey J being present. ! Mr. and Mrs. Steve Fothering-ham Fothering-ham of South Gate1, California, visited Monday and Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. C. i Schow. Mr. Fotheringham is a ; brother of Mrs. Schow. They are former residents of Milford. ' J Mrs. William Cochrane and daughter Margaret, accompanied by Mrs. Hampton Burke of Black Rock, Tuesday morning motored J to Salt Lake Gity where they will j visit several days and also attend I the Grand Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Weston have purchased the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Rodgers, who will leave in the near future to make their home in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Peterson and baby son Neil left Thursday afternoon for their home in Nevada Ne-vada City, California, after a two weeks visit here with Mrs. Peterson's Peter-son's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jefferson. Mrs. D. F. Bone and Mrs. G. A. Marr, state Republican workers, were in Milford Wednesday morning, morn-ing, conferring with Mrs. L. G. Clay, county Republican vice-chairman vice-chairman with regards to arrangements arrange-ments for visits to Beaver county of other party workers. Fred Levi, former cashier of the Milford State bank and weJlknown western stock feeder, was in Milford Mil-ford the fore part of the week attending at-tending to local business matters. He is now located at Ontario, Oregon Ore-gon and likes it very well there in that fast-growing section. The Wednesday Night Bridge club met at the home of Mrs. Gene Kirk with Mrs. J. H. Weston winning the high points prize, Mrs. E. L. Smith the high honors prize and Mrs. Val Yeen the consolation prize. Others present were Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr., Mrs. Sam Cline, Mrs. Geeorge Moore and Mrs. D. S. Williams. Mrs. J. M. Hughes was hostess to her bridge club and guests Monday night. Those present were Mrs. Gene Kirk, Mrs. J. M. Williams, Mrs. D. S. Williams, Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen, Mrs. M. H. Pool, Mrs. E. L. Smith and Mrs. Myron Lewis. The club prize was received by Mrs. J. M. Williams, house prize by Mrs. Hughes, guest prize by Mrs. Lewis and consolation consola-tion by Mrs. D. S. Williams. Gertrude Dewey entertained her bridge club last Thursday night. Those present were Mrs. Tom Campbell, Mrs. Earl Stonehocker, Mrs. Lloyd Kohler, Mrs. R. R. Shannon, Alice WynaugM, (Leah Smith, Gertrude Dewey and Gladys Coleman. Miss Coleman was the winner of the high points prize, Mrs. Stonehocker the high honors prize and Miss Wynaught the consolation prize. Mrs. Owqn Stoker entertained members of her club at "500" at her home Wednesday night. Those present were Mrs. Wayne Lyman, Mrs. Eddie Leech, Mrs. Roy Fir'- mage,' Mrs. Shay Zabriskie, Mrs. Herman Jensen, Mrs. Tom James, Mrs. Charles McCulley, Mrs. Ross Patterson, Mrs. Bob Caperon, Mrs. S. F. Tustison and Mrs.' R. E. Banks. The high score prize was won by Mrs. Leech, traveling prize by Mrs. James and consolation by Mrs. McCulley. Mrs. O. C. Koch was hostess to the Pierian club Tuesday evening. After a short meeting when several current articles, read by members, were read and discussed, the evening was turned into a social for Mrs. Frank Doble, who is leaving soon for Olympia, Washington. She was presented with a nice table lamp as a remembrance re-membrance from the dug. Those enjoying1 the evening were Mrs. Vena H. Wilson, Mrs. Roy White sr., Mrs. J. R. Murdock sr., Mrs. Frank Doble, Mrs. O. C. Koch, Mrs. Guss Fotheringham and Mrs. W. J. Walkotten. Mrs. Freda Outzen and son Dern, accompanied by Mrs. Iva, Walker and Miss Alda Nielsen of Beaver and Miss Pauline Matthews Mat-thews of Minersville, motored to Salt Lake City last Friday. Mrs. Outzen and the Misses Nielsen and Matthews were in attendance at the 39th annual library convention conven-tion held at the Newhouse hotel on Saturday. Miss Johanna Spra-gue, Spra-gue, veteran librarian, was honored honor-ed at the banquet with a medal from the association for having given 42 years of service to library li-brary work. Governor Henry H. Blood sent a letter of appreciation to Miss Sprague. The Lady Trainmen were entertained enter-tained Monday evening by Mrs. Ross Palmer at her home. It was also a farewell party for Mrs. L. B. McFadden, who is leaving for Salt Lake, where they will make their home. A hot supper was served at seven o'clock and bridge was played during the remainder of the evening. Prizes were won by the following women: for high points, Mrs. Don Hatch and Mrs. Glen Brown; for high honors, Mrs. Ray Mills and Mrs. Vera Cum-mings; Cum-mings; traveling prize, Mrs. Stan Voorhees, and consolation prize. Mrs. Tom James. There were 24 guests present and the lodge presented pre-sented Mrs. McFadden with a leather overnight bag. County Clerk and Mrs. William i A. Miller, former residents of Mil- ford, were greeting friends here , Tuesday in the course of Mr. Mil-' Mil-' ler's work in getting arrange-I arrange-I ments made for Wednesday's registration reg-istration for military service. Mrs. Ada Baxter and Mrs. Bertha Cottrell were hostesses to the Past Noble Grands club Wednesday Wed-nesday evening at the I. O. O. F. hall. A delicious hot tamale supper sup-per was served at 7:00 p.m. to the following members: Martha Armstrong, Arm-strong, Susan Glenn, Dora Caster-line, Caster-line, Selma Carlson, Crea Elmer, Gladys Coleman, Georgia Stonehocker, Stone-hocker, Agnes Kauert, Sadie Griffiths Grif-fiths and Sadie Litchfield.
