Show i j Miss Idonna Denny left Monday for Ogden to visit with her sister, Mrs. II. G. McCarty, and family. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Smith combined com-bined pleasure with business this week in a motor trip to Escalante, whero their daughter, Mrs. Berlyn Osborn, and family reside. Milford was visited with one of the. stiff est winds in its history Wednesday midday. No damage was reported, however, except in some slowing up of rail traffic, Mr. and Mrs. William L. (Les) Carter of Calienite arrived in Milford Sunday to spend part of a vacation with local relatives and , friends. i Joan and Cherry Shingleton of Salt Lake City are visiting: here at the home of their father, Lynn Shingleton. LMr. and Mrs. D. E. Kijrk this week motored to Salt Lake City, where Mrs. Kirk expected to re. ceive further medical treatment. I Mr. and Mlrs. Merrill Jameson and daughter Bernice and Mr. and Mrs. Dasil Davis and little daughter, daugh-ter, accompanied by Carol Myers, returned Thursday of last week from a vacation visit with relatives rela-tives and friends in southern California. Cali-fornia. Mrs. Jennie Lovern Roberts, widow of Carl Edward "Honey" Roberts, died Wednesday night, a victim of uremia, from' which she had been a sufferer for the past few years. Funeral services are to be held in the local L. D. S. chapel Supday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Cron, with their little daughter and son, left Sunday for a vacation trip of a couple rf weeks that is taking them to Rochester, Pennsylvania. Pennsyl-vania. This is the former home of Mr. Cron who has not, however, how-ever, been there for some eight years. Tues-day. Mrs. J. I:. Murdock jr. went to Ogden Sunday to meet her seven year old granddaughter, Lou Ann Dunkley, who had accompanied friends that far from her home in Oakland, California. Little Miss Dunkley will spend the summer here with, her grandparents and other relatives and friends. The Saturday afternoon bridge clubmembers and guests were entertained June 19 at the home of Mrs. J. R. Murdock jr., with the bridge prizes going to Mrs. Murdock, Mrs. J. M. Williams and Mrs. Sam Cline. Others present were Mrs. Myron Lewis, Mrs. J. H. Weston. Mrs. Harold Cline, Mrs. J. E. Wilson and Mrs. Loran Bishop. Mrs. Loran Bishop was hostess to members of the Bridgadier club Friday evening of last week, at which time Mrs. William Morris was given an apron shower in honor of her birthday. Bridge was enjoyed by Mrs. Morris, Mrs. J. P. Holm. Mrs. 0. R. Smith, Mrs. Vern Shingleton, Mrs. R. J. Magill, Mrs. Arthur Connell and Mrs. Ross Baxter. The high points prize was received by Mrs. Smith and the high honor prize by Mrs. Shingleton while Mrs. Holm received re-ceived the consolation prize. v |
