Show MACHINERY FOR FOREST WORK Machinery for the selection of the state's quota of 1000 men between the ages of IS and 25 and l.'!00 experienced experien-ced older men to be enlisted in the conservation corps was set in motion Monday by T. L. Holman, chairman of the governor's executive relief committee, and Robert S. Hinckley, the governor's representative. The two officials conferred on plans and policies during the day. The final word in selecting the 1300 experienced men, who will be dis- patched through the state's camps, will be exercised by the United States forest service and national park ser- vice, Mr. Holman said. The county I agent of agency designated to handle ' the enrollments of younger men will 1 receive all applications for work in the emergency corps, and, for convenience, con-venience, also will receive applications applica-tions from the experienced men desiring de-siring work, he added. I Mr. Holman explained that no application ap-plication for enrollment in the con-! con-! servation corps will be valid unless ! made on the prescribed forms, which may be obtained at the agency des-I des-I ignated in each county. County i agencies authorized to receive appli- cations and make selections will not i be announced until after they have I received the necessary forms and in-I in-I structions and are acquainted with their duties, he said. Mr. Holman added that by the first of next week it is expected all counties coun-ties will be organized and prepared ' to receive applications from persons j wishing to enroll. |
