Show THREE COUNTY MUTUAL AID SOCIETY FORMED People of three counties, Iron, Beaver and Washington, are uniting in the organization of a mutual aid society as a form of insurance protection. pro-tection. The idea of the organization is to provide mutual protection for its members by voluntary contribution, i It is limited to fifteen hundred mem-I mem-I bers, apportioned tentatively, 575 I each to Iron and Washington and 350 j to Beaver county. Upon the death of I any member the remaining members agree to voluntarily donate, but without with-out legal obligation, $1.00 each within with-in thirty days of said death to the beneficiary. Only persons of good health and morals engaged in non-hazardous oc-i oc-i cupations are eligible to membership, the aim of the society being to unite this class of people for a common cause, that of protection equally to each other. Members. who die will be replaced from a waiting list. The executive board for the society, until the annual election, consists of H. H. Lunt and Dr. M. J. Macfarlane of Cedar City, W. Warner Mitchell of Parowan, Thomas W. Gunn ot Beaver, W. O. Bentley of St. George and Claude Hirschi of Hurricane. They serve without pay. The office of secretary-treasurer is held by Ver-gene Ver-gene Simikins of Cedar City whose duty is to collect from the members and remit to the beneficiary in case of death. |
