Show BEAVER STAKE WINS BANNER AT MEETING OF M I A OFFICERS Approximately four hundred representative repre-sentative of the M. I. A. of the Beaver Beav-er and Parowan Stakes attended the Annual Institute convention' held last Sunday at Beaver. Members of the general board- of Salt Lake were present to'-instruct the M. I. A. officers and leaders in their duties and outline their activities for the coming year. Don' C. "Wood and Alma C. Clayton were the board members for the young men and Kuth May Fox, president of the board and Grace Cannon Neslen for the."young women. Beaver Stake won tht banner awarded by the board for having seventy-five per cent of the required officers of-ficers appointed and present at the convention. At nine o'clock in the morning activities ac-tivities began with a joint stake board meeting which was followed by a general assembly of stake and ward officers. At the assembly the slogan for the year, "Physical, Mental and Spiritual Health, through ObsVrvenee of the Word of Wisdom," was announced. an-nounced. The assembly was followed by department de-partment sessions. At the joint M Men Gleaners' session, Jess Done of Milford gave a three minute talk on "What M Men work means to me," while during the vanguard session S. J M. Wittwer of Beaver spoke on the j making use of the vanguard reading ! project to increase the reading habit among members of the troop. During a department meeting that followed, Henry Bowman of -Milford reported on the boy scout work and Dr. Charles R. Parrish spoke in the genera discussion on scout work. The convention closed with a joint general assembly when the . banner I was presented to the Beaver Stake, j Milford people attending - were: i Henry Bowman, Dr. Charles R.
