Show GLORY FISSURE WILL BE DEVELOPED AS MAIN MINERALIGING FISSURE IN REGION IDevelopment of the last month at the Moscow Mines in the Star district near Milford has convinced the management of the desirability of centering more attention on the Glory fissure system. Previously this fissure has been considered a post mineral fault fissure and not a mineralizing fissure, and the ore bodies associated with it, drag ore in place. Recent findings, according to Manager Garratt S. Wilkin, unquestionably un-questionably prove the Glory fissure to be the main mineralizing fissure of the district. The Glory fissure was so named be-' cause ore was "glory-holed " from the surface and followed down to the 400-foot level. The chance finding of a boulder of ore by a small boy just back of the boarding house, years after aft-er the mine had been opened up, resulted re-sulted in the opening up of the Glory fissure ore shoots. On the 300, a second se-cond shoot was found and another on the 1,100, called the Fault stope. From the monzonite stock, where the Glory fissure first outcrops, this vein is strongly mineralized clear across the country, according to Mr. Wilkin, and from the limestone down to the underlying quartzite, the fissure fis-sure carries strong evidence of being a mineralizing channel. For this reason, the company has ittcided to confine its activity at least I for the present to a thorough prospecting pros-pecting of the Glory fissure on the 900-foot level, where some strong ore! leads have been opened up and some high grade shipped from time to time.! One of the main objectives will be to connect up with the old Fault stope! about 100 feet to the west of the pre- sent face, where the company knows there is a face of good ore. The last shipment from this showing, made i from the old workings by leasers, as-' sayed between 30 to 40 per cent lead in the sand carbonate form. i However, in making this connection, a number of strong leads should be cut. As a matter of fact, the company com-pany just cut one, which will be raised upon, just as soon as the connection can be made. Mineral Survey. ! |
