Show ONE DIVORCE TO EVERY 3 MARRIAGES IS COUNTY RECORD There was one divorce out of every three marriages in Beaver County and one out of every five in the state of Utah during 1930 according to figures released lfest week by the United States bureau of census. Thirty-nine marriages and 12 divorces di-vorces are the figures for the county for 1930 while 5,649 marriages and 1,015 divorces were recorded for the entire state. Figures also show that there were fewer marriages in the county and fewer in the state in 1930 than there were in 1929, while there were more divorces. During last year there were nineteen nine-teen less marriages in the county than the preceding year, as the figures are 58 for 1929 and only 39 for 1930 while the divorces have increased, twelve last year against only four the year before. Figures for the state show the same decline in marriage and increase in divorce, 5,649 marriages in 1930, 6,286 in 1929. 1,015 divorces in 1930 and 1,012 in 1929. There have been fewer annulments, however, as the state figures show only fifteen for the past year and twenty-two for -1929 while here in Beaver County there were no annulments annul-ments during 1930 and only one in 1929. The bureau of census offers the following fol-lowing summary: decrease of marriages mar-riages in the state, 10.1 per cent, increase in-crease of divorces three tenths of one per cent. The increase in divorces for Beaver County, however, is considerably consider-ably more than that of the state as a whole, as it is thirty-three and a third per cent. |
