Show BEAVER MEN START MINE IN HALLORAN Lorin Hall a former, Beaver County Coun-ty man, and Herrick McQuarrie, formerly for-merly of Salt Lake City, who have been identified in the past with the development of various mines in Utah and Nevada, have acquired for their backers some 1,500 acres of prospective ground and have established estab-lished a camp two miles northwest of Halloran. The d i b t rict near Halloran Springs, located about 225 miles from Los Angeles, in San Bernardino Bernar-dino County, on Highway 91 and about 13 miles East of Baker, is ex-priencing ex-priencing a rather spirited gold boom with several prominant mining min-ing companies doing development. Gold bearing quartz has been discovered dis-covered over a considerable area, some of the rock showing much free gold. Assay values run $5 to $5000 per ton. A shaft is being sunk on a S5 foot vein by the Burns-Snyder interests, in-terests, equipped with air compressor compres-sor and hoist just west of Halloran. o |
