Show ATTRACTING CAPITAL There has been no period in the past many years that we have not felt the stress owing to lack of sufficient suf-ficient capital either money to buy land, pay off a debt of purchase, buy more cows, do this or. do that, the constant cry has been MORE CAPITAL. CAPI-TAL. This spring we have it within our power, by careful inducement, to get a new industry with us, at a capital investment of over $150,000, all of which shall be their money, not to be contributed by us, with no local lo-cal stock selling deal, no wild cat promotion, but just a plain straight businesslike entering of this field to manufacture a food product, util-, izing our surplus. This industry will disburse to the valley, on only, a minimum of 50,000 tons, the magnificent mag-nificent sum of $400,000, and at a time of season, when no other returns have as then come in; it will in no manner interfere with any industry already here, but actually add to their prosperity; it " i'l induce more i people to come in. ?, ; ' more people will add to 'yours a your neighbors neigh-bors prosperity. The East Side pledges itself to 37,500 tons, as against merely 12,- 50 0 tons for this side. The support from the east side is loyal, liberal and unstinted. Are we to be outdone? There is always a surplus of hay ih normal years; there is always some field that wouldn't or couldn't make seed; there is always a hay crop coming up for rotation if for nothing else. There is tli ..narket for that hay. And with this industry indus-try comes a market for Barley, Milo Maize, Corn Fodder, Kaffir Corn and many other crops. And all this redounds re-dounds to the prosperity of this region. re-gion. We want this industry. We need it. We have done well in getting in a sugar factory, a. spur railroad, a seed mill let us now unite to wel-lome wel-lome in a kindred industry that fits with all the others, increase their prosperity and our own as well.
