Show I TERRIBLE 'ACCIDENT AT FILLMORE Last Friday night, a party composed com-posed of Golden Howlett, driving, Miss Ada Rasmussen, in the front seat, and John Howlett, Sheldon Trimble and De Levelle Wateott in the rear seat, drove over in a Ford car to the dance hall at" Fillmore, Just after a basketball game. There being be-ing no attendance by then at the dance hall, the party decided to ride around the streets for a moment or two to pass the -time. They came onto Main Street on the upper part of the grade, and turned the car loose for all it was worth. Down in front of Alonzo Huntsman's Hunts-man's home, the car turned over three times, very badly crushing the young lady's skull, and somewhat badly, though less seriously, injuring the driver. One of the boys was unhurt, un-hurt, and one only slightly injured. Ml three were around town the next day. Miss Rasmussen was nearly killed. For two days she did not regain consciousness; con-sciousness; it was feared her back was broken, though later reports from Fillmore seem to indicate such s not the case. Her recovery was ' despaired of, and at this writing her v condition is still very critical, with, however, some hopes held out that she may possibly recover. The driver Is improving and will, no doubt, fully recover. It was a deplorable accident, and one over which the entire community is deeply grieved. |
