Show WATER CONDITIONS DEMAND ECONOMY TO CONSERVE F. W. Cottrell and 1 T. Uliu-k have just returned from a 'rip io the other side of the water shed to make a personal survey of water 'conditions. They found no snow ou I the south sides of the hills, which for February presages a short water supply. They found the roads all the way up dry, and in places even dusty. They conferred with a large ! number of persons, and found on I every hand expressions that thi3 was one of the dryest winters in years. That we get by this year without a shortage is only half the story; impounded water reflects in thg following fol-lowing year a shortage during the year at hand, so that our lowest mark in the reservoir may be expected expec-ted next year. Conditions may cora-pell cora-pell the using of water below the usual "carry-over level" so that we will not quite go into next year with a credit, should this one continue dry. Whether or not all users agree with this thought, still the utmost economy should be usgd In the duty of water, and no waste allowed. Or . there may be actual suffering next year. |
