Something that appeals in this fifty-fifty fifty-fifty business a catchy phrase that we'd all wish for. Mrs. W. R. Walker, only sister to A. B. Ward, 'died last week at her home in Redlands, Cal. Mr. Ward visited there last summer, and found his sister not in the best health. The daughter of the deceased passed thru Delta on her way to California for the funeral, being met at the station by Mr .Ward. "No use a-takin' a sandwich to a banquet." ,The Myster Girls entertained for Mrs. Scott Stoddard on Monday evening eve-ning at Mrs. Lisonbee's cafe. Cards were played and delicious refreshments refresh-ments served. Those present were Mrs.' Helen Tozer, Mrs. Pearl Hoyt, Mrs Sadie Stoddard, and the Misses Orena Law, Reva Beck, Anna Hopkins, Hop-kins, Lea Leavltt, Carmen Funk, Es-telle Es-telle Wright, Lucile Damron .Hattie Ward, Vida Anderson, Athena Beckwith Beck-with and Martha Helse. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ellis are moving mov-ing to Salt Lake City this week. Mr. Ellis has been working here with the State Road Commission, and we are sorry indeed to lose him and his wife. The D. A. C. entertained for Mrs. -Ellis on Monday night. Mrs. W. R. Walker and Mrs. Job Riding entertained the Jolly Stitchers Stitch-ers at the home of Mrs. Walker last Friday. The afternoon was spent In sewing and a Bhort business meeting. A dainty luncheon was served. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heise wont to Salt Lake City on Sunday, where Mrs. Heisa will receive medical attention. at-tention. Chris Beck Is again in Delta after a long sojourn In Sawtelle, Cal. |
