Wright at the depot, heard a man approach the window, glanced up an(l recognized the form as that of a man who had offered him a drink of moonshine the night before; the man gruffly said "Hands up," and stuck a rifle through the wicket. Wright thot it was a huge joke, walked over to the fellow, and asked for the gun, put his hands on it, and talked to the man;' at no time did it enter Wright's mind that it was serious. Interpreter Houmanos and Glenn Stewart came In from the other room and also took it for a joke, and Houmanos tried to get the gun. A-bout A-bout this time a train whistled, and the fellow and a pal, in the beck-ground, beck-ground, masked, quickly stepped to the door and beat it. Evidently the affair was a "dud." |
