They have taken their losses, and plunged in to produce more to fight their way out. It is not surprising when a calf brings 6c. on the farm and 60 c. on the restaurant table that the farmer is taking steps to see what can be done toward improving the marketing market-ing of the things he raises; to try to reduce the wide gap between himself and the ultimate consumer of his products. No other business man can point to as wide a margin between that which he turns out at his factory fact-ory and the price the consumer has to pay for it.
