Mr. and Mrs. V. G. Norris of the North Tract left yesterday for Los Angeles where they will spend the winter. Mrs. Emily Jensen, of Pan-. Sprunt and Mr. Stearns went to Salt Lake Tuesday night to arrange with the Salt Lake Route for putting a siding into the factory grounds. There is a stray St. Bernard dog running around causing an endless amount of trouble. A shot from the town marshall would relieve the situation to the satisfaction of tre populance, "Nuff sed." Wm. Warner, who has been at the head of the Chicago office of the Salt Lake Route for some time past has been appointed to fill the office of A. G. P. & F. A. for the road at Salt Lake vs. J. H. Manderfield resigned. Wentworth Lewis, who has been working for the Sevier Land & Water Co. at Lynndyl, came home Sunday evening very sick and has been confined to his bed since. He is thot to have been poisoned by eating canned goods. Mr. Harris of Nephi, who did threshing on the North Tract this summer, came down fronl Nephi with a bunch of horses 5 which he is pasturing here this winter. We understand that a number of others are bringing stock here from the North where they will be pastured. Mrs. Ward and her son-in-law, Jack Thurston got a little reckless reck-less over the outcome of the election and made a wager that the one who lost would have to haul the other thru the streets on a hand cart. Mrs. Ward was on the wrong side of the fence and last Saturday she paid her debt by borrowing Mr. Miller's cart and giving Jack a ride up Clark street. E. G. Skiliris of the firm of Skliri's & Co., have just sent word to the sugar factory builders build-ers as we go to press that he will be here the first of the week and assure the growers that he will furnish all the necessary help in the fields to take care of the beet crops when the factory is built. He will furnish any nationality they desire and will meet with the growers at several places while here Delte, Wood-row Wood-row and any other place which will let him know. |
