Show THE NEWS FROM BURTNER Albert P. Wallace, Chronicle Representative. Mr. James A. Melville made a business busi-ness trip to Salt Lake City last week. Mr. F. M. Wilson of Abraham, passed through llurtner last Sunday evening on his way to Salt Lake City. Some building was going on In llurtner llurt-ner last week. An addition was built on Will Jenkins' house. An automobile automo-bile garage was built for the I. L. & W. Co. and a porch on Kay lllshop'a house. The new concrete spillway has been completed and it certainly is a dandy. They are making the fills and Bre preparing pre-paring to turn the water over it. It was completed last Thursday. The trouble between Hay Wallop and John Chidester has quieted down. Ch blester moved off the land Inst Friday. Fri-day. John K. Steel made a business trip to Salt Lake City this week. Mr. Fiank Taylor nnd Irene Lewis went to Fillmore Tuesday to procure a marriage license. They were married Wednesday veiling at the homo of the bride's parents. Mr. Taylor is from Wayne county. He enrne here about a year ago and Is making this his home. Miss Lewis is one of Hurtner's most highly esteemed young ladies. We wish them all the Joy and happiness happi-ness in their new life. Another carload of cement was unloaded un-loaded Monday by the 1). L. & W. Co. Mr. Kugene Hilton of Hinckley is here painting Kay Itlshop's house. Word has Just been received that the temporary spillway at the big cut built about the 2tli of April, has washed out. They had the (Ills very nearly made to turn the water over the new spillway, but the .water got the start of them and washed out the old one. It will delay the work for about three or four days. If the ' old, spill way , bad. , held twnty touf fiours longer they would have had men and teams tearing It out. |
