Show 1 ACADEMY NOTES. Clark Allred, Reporter. The three games of basketball played between Millard Academy and Murdock Academy resulted- as fol lows: First game played at Beaver, March 1, won by Murdock. Score 40 to 35. The Millard boys took the lesd and at the end of first half were four points ahead. In the last two minutes of the second half the Murdock rushed ahead one point nd before the Millard boy could throw another basket the time waa up. Each team got the same number of field baskets and made the same number of foul throws. Murdock waa awarded one point In the first part of the last half. Score, 26 to 25. Thursday morning A. A- Hinckley and W. F. Pratt rlslted the Academy. Pres. Hinckley gave a report of the doings of tb board, also an excellent talk on the benefit of a church school trslnlng. Bro.V Trait discussed the value of the Academy to tb young people of the county. The first years gave their party Friday Fri-day evening. An Interesting progrsra wss rendered, after which dainty refreshments re-freshments were served. During the time of the freshmen's fun, two stray chickens entered the gyro. They were soon caught and Saturday morning the class president and several other class members enjoyed themselve at a luncheon, with chicken as the main course of the menu. The members of the Acsdemy choir snd their psrtners held a social at the Academy Saturday evening. |
