Show Growing More Popular That "Utah's Wonderland" is attracting nation-wide attention and will soon be a popular place of visitation for American tourists tour-ists is evidenced by the fact that a party of U. P. railroad officials consisting of Gerrit Fort, passenger passen-ger and traffiic manager, and Gen'l Passenger Agt. Basinger accompanied by Gov. Spry, J. H. Manderfield, Vice-President Fuller Ful-ler of the Ramond-Whitcomb Tourist Agency and Geo. Kelly of the White Auto Co. left Salt Lake last Saturday to look over the scenes of beauty and grandeur of Southern Utah. If these gentlemen find them as magnificient as has been reported re-ported they will soon, no doubt, begin a campaign to divert traffic traf-fic in that direction- That other intrests are working in the same direction is evidenced evidenc-ed by the following from the Deseret News. "Eastern tourist agencies are planning to send representatives to this state soon to look over the project to inaugurate a line of automobile stages from either Lund or Modena to the north rim of the Grand canyon of the Colorado. Colo-rado. The party is expected here the middle of the month. There is also talk of building a hotel on the north rim, with camp cottages, making the place a summer resort." The opening of the "Arrowhead "Arrow-head Trail" will divert still more traffic thru this part of Utah. |
