Show First Ass'n Formed Win. Gardner is the first man in the valley, so far as we know, who has taken steps to get lined up to take advantage of the "Federal Farm Loan" law. He has read all the articles published publish-ed in the Chronicle, then came in and studied our pamphlet containing con-taining the law and went out and talked the matter over with his neighbors and friends, notwithstanding notwith-standing the fact that he had already invested in the private association represented by Mr. Patterson. He has interested others in the matter and now has subscribers enough to form a $30,000 association and has enough more of his friends and neighbors interested in the matter mat-ter to run the association up to fifty or sixty thousand dollars. He has sent to the Federal Land Board for blanks for making out applications for loans on, and a book which has just been issued telling how to form the organization. organiza-tion. Mr. Gardner has the whole thing in his noodle in a working manner, and anyone who is interested in the formation forma-tion of an organization should see him and have a talk with him. The Federal Farm Loan Law-is Law-is here to stay and will soon be the chief source of financial aid to the farmer, and the fellow who hangs back of it too negle-gent negle-gent to investigate will just be delayed that much in getting cheap money to do business on. Mr. Gardner said one of the questions he is asked most about is the h'k that a subscriber has to pay in order to obtain the loan. This does not need to worry any one as the government govern-ment virtually advances you the . money out of your loan to make the t'h payment on the stock and that you do not have to pay that money until you get your loan. We also understand that agents who go around the country promising prom-ising the farmer money in advance ad-vance of that to be had from the government by their company, extending temporary loans, are either misrepresenting things or are misinfoned as no such arrangements ar-rangements are being made. |
