Show THE NEWS FROM BURTNER Albtrt P. Wallace. Chronicle Representative. Last Sunday night Jas. A. Melville, chief selling agent for the Delta Land t Water Company, arrived here with two car containing about sixty people peo-ple from lx)8 Angeles. Pasadena and San Dlago. Cat., and up to the time of our writing they are here Investigating Investigat-ing the lands in and around Ilurtner. The company was gotten up by Mr. Dow Pltiel. of Los Angeles. Mr. I'ltzel has been In our county before and has been very much pleased with all of his Invstlgatlons. Kverything was fixed up In great style for their arrival, Gen-eral Gen-eral Manager Geo. A. Snow of the Delta Company camo down from Salt Lake City. Me brought with him a chef from Salt Lake, who Immediately began to prepare a barbecue for their arr val. .Monday they visited the south tract, also went over through Hinckley. One mftn sadi: "I have seen more alfalfa today than I ever saw before," and as a whole they seeme to be pretty well satisfied with tno place. Mr. F. E. Manges, city ticket and passenger agent of Ios Angeles, has the excursion In charge. ! 'r. and Mrs. 8. T. Allen, also W. I. Moody and wife were Ilurtner visitors last week. -Unite a number of the people are very much dissatisfied about the way the ;ew company does about the pay ;ch'o. The water Is being pumped out of the hole where the wreck occurred on May &th. William H. Gardner of Salem. Utah, came back to Ilurtner last Saturday. He expects to stay Indefinitely. Abner Johnson and George Matheson are the new ditch riders. Johnson has the day and Matheson tho night shift. Mr. V. M. Samuels made a trip to Salt Lake City Sunday night, return-! lug Tuesday morning. Harry Dresser came down from Salt Lake last week. He was at the Chronicle Chron-icle farm, learning something about Irrigation. Ir-rigation. Stewart Kccles & Son call special at tetillon to their ladles furnishings this week.
