Show buted to the success of the 1910 laud show and the active work of the Commercial Com-mercial Club Publicity liureau and Utah Development league has served to keen up this interest to the extent of bringing scores of home Beckers to thla state. The purpose of the Omaha Land Show la to develop the west, rather than to make money. It has been organized or-ganized by progressive men whose sole purpose Is to divert the tide of Immigration Immi-gration into the great west. ' The shifting of a few million people peo-ple from the congested cltiea and worn-out farms of the east to the sparsely settled west will be of mutual mu-tual advantage to both sections "Involved. "In-volved. Trill States in the west will be well represented at the Ijind Show in October, Oc-tober, the most prominent among them will bo Utah. Hy an amalgamation of the various development organizations of the western west-ern states the general invitation of (he west to the east to come out and see the country Is relieved of any appearance ap-pearance of local prejudice or selflsh-tiers, selflsh-tiers, and this assists us In reaching desirable people. - The Held for expansion along these lines Is immense, but the best results cannot be secured until there Is a population sufficient to make use of Jlit' millions of acres of land now awaiting cultivation which will Increase In-crease both our productions and our Consumption. OMAHA LAND SHOW. Arrangement for the L'tah cxhirii'f at the second annual Omaha Land Show, now being carried on through the Utah Development League, are expected ex-pected to be completed within the next two weeks, and the plans, so lar as outlined, will provide for the best exhibit ex-hibit that the State of Utah has ever presented along agricultural and horticultural hor-ticultural lines. The date lor this land show, set for October Kith, is particularly favorable for a good display dis-play from this state. Coming later In the season It will also permit a better exhibit of fruit than last year, while the excellent crops on practically all the dry farms of Utah this year adds to the certainty of improving Utah's great exhibit of dry farm products. The various fruit growing district of the state have already expressed a decided Interest In the land show, and ft Is assured that the commercial organizations or-ganizations of Utah will bIko see that every part of the state is well represented. repre-sented. A large proportion of homesteaders taking lands under the Enlarged Homestead Act in Utah during t h last year have been from the middle west, and the Interest In Utah lands shown by resident of Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas Is largely nttrl- |
