Show SET EXAMPLE TO HIS MEN Henry of Prussia Evidently One of Those Leaders Who Do Not Say "Go!" but "Come!" Prince Henry of Prussia is an ar-dffnt ar-dffnt sailor, says Pearson's Weekly, hut he is known among the bluejackets bluejack-ets as a great martinet, and they fear rather than love him. The following story is typical of his methods, and fhows that, although he expects those under his command to put up with all kinds of hardships, he is by no means above "roughing it" himself. One day, when he was on board a warship in the North sea, he suddenly gave the order, "All hands to bathe!" It was a bitterly cold day and the water was like ice. The order was so evidently distasteful that one of the officers ventured to make a mild protest pro-test to the prince. Without answering him a single word, Prince Henry, although al-though fully clothed, sprang over the vessel's side, swam out a good distance dis-tance in the icy water, and returned to the deck dripping from head to toot. After that, the sailors took their bath without demur. |
