Show Deseret Doings Miss Nellie Conk, who was operated on for appendicitis at Salt Lake last week, returned home last Saturday. There are new sons at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Petty and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Kelly. Mrs. Larsen, of St. George, is here visiting her daughter, Mrs. Mark Kelly. Mrs. Amelia Cahoon left Saturday Satur-day evening to visit with her mother in Salt Lake. Archie Ryan and Virgil Kelly motored to Snake Valley last week. John R. Bennett is sporting a new Dodge car, and H. S. Cahoon Ca-hoon is rambling right along in a new Ford. Miss Minnie Iverson was unable to teach Friday an account of la grippe. Mrs. E. J. Eliason has returned return-ed home from an extended visit at Fillmore. The Tipperary Orchestra gives a dance next Saturday evening at the A. C. Gym. There is an epidemic of la grippe in this locality. In some cases whole families are down. Here's hoping the recent rain drowned all the germs. The Home Economics Club met at the Relief Hall last Thursday. Thurs-day. "Xmas. Gifts" and "School Lunches" were the subjects considered. con-sidered. Each member brought a sample school lunch. These were inspected by the school teachers present and pronounced excellent, and if the proof of the pudding is in the eating, they later proved that their verdict was true when the lunches were exchanged and eaten. Mrs. Caroline Black and Mrs. Josephine Petty, returned last Friday from visiting at Mammoth. Mam-moth. The business meeting of the Literary Club which should have been held last Thursday evening even-ing was postponed on acount of illness of some of the teachers. If the Home Economics Club was instrumental in getting these new coats of paint on a couple of buildings on Main St., Hats Off to Them! Let the good work continue. Wise Cropper has returned from the coast where he spent several weeks. The Wollaston brothers from Cali., are stopping at the Hotel Moody. They are looking over the country with a view of locating. |
