IN AND AROUND DELTA The Week's News from the Coming Metropolis At tlie meeting of the Commercial club last Saturday evening several new members were received and quite a number of communications were received. re-ceived. One important matter the Commercial club has succeeded In accomplishing ac-complishing Is getting the county commissioners to designate about 20 miles of county ro.id tributary to Delta. Del-ta. One Is through the West Delta tract and the other Is a continuation of Clark street east, and south ucross the canal. This will give a good outlet out-let to our city and Holden. The secretary sec-retary of the Salt Lake Commercial tib wrote that the meeting of the Cull Development League and the Utah Press association would be held at Salt Lake on January 23. and wanted want-ed the club to be represented. The next meeting of the club will be held on Saturday next, at which the annual election of officers will be held. It Is to be hoped that every member of the club will be present and that when the club begins Its next year's work It will have the hearty co-operation interested In a bigger and better Delta. Del-ta. The cold weather of the past few-weeks few-weeks has made a big demand for coal, and N. S. Hlshop lias disposed of four car loads In the past two weeks. It takes only about two days for a car load to be cleaned out, and If you delay getting your supply when a car comes" In you are likely to go without. Mr. Hlshop has several more cars on the way and a good many, including in-cluding the editor, are- anxiously awaiting It. Although the new depot Is not quite . completed inside, Agent Hawes has moved In and he feels as proud as If The old box cars have been removed and the coal shed In front has been taken up to the north end of the yard so the new deiot looms up In fine style." About forty land buyers have been In Delta the past week. They come from different parts of Utah, from California and from the Eastern states.
