Show Economics Entertain The Home Economics Ass'n report a jolly big time at their Basket supper and dance last Friday evening. ' A large crowd responded to their invitations and the evening even-ing was spent in a most entertaining enter-taining and mirthful way. One of the striking comic features fea-tures of the evening was the home-made poetry of Mrs. Porter, Por-ter, sang to the tune of "Home, Sweet Home", by members of the Ass'n. Some of these jolly swats were fired at the Commercial Com-mercial Club and it is expected they will return them with interest inter-est at the Community Ball Friday Fri-day evening. The baskets were auctioned off by Messrs Beckwith and Gardner, Gar-dner, who supplied the necessary neces-sary anctioneer dope and made -it interesting between buys, also to the buyer. They wish to extend their thanks to all the ladies for their generosity in coming out with such a nice line of baskets- The results were a glad surprise sur-prise to the club members, who found they were ' $37.50 to the good after expenses were paid. This will enable them to secure 12 volumes of books they needed need-ed badly in their work, also buy them subscriptions for two leading lead-ing housekeepers' magizines and send their representative to the Housekeepers' Conference at Logan, January 24th to February Febru-ary 5th. This lead will put them at the head of .the various county organizations. |
