The Boston team of the American league won the fifth and deciding game from the Philadelphia Phila-delphia team of the National league on Wednesday, and are now the acknowledged ac-knowledged world's champions. The score on Wednesday was: Boston, 5; Philadelphia, 4. The Phillies led until the eighth inning when the Red Sox made two runs and put over the deciding de-ciding run in the ninth inning. The Phillies won but one game in the series, the first, with Alexander pitching, the score being 3 to 1. The next three games went to the Red Sox, the score in each game being the same, 2 to 1. |
