Show Delta Rook Club Holds Meeting The Delta Rook Club was entertained enter-tained by Mrs. Sylvia Payne at her home on August 15. Present were Marjorie Gardner, Clarice Nielson, Lillian Warnick, Phyllis Wood. Francis Whicker, Martha Christensen Christen-sen and Agnes Allen, and a guest was Donna Sorenson, Mrs. War-nick's War-nick's sister, who was visiting here from Logan. High scores were held by Mrs. Allen and Mrs. Christensen, and Mrs. Whicker held low. Refreshments Re-freshments were served later. On August 22 Mrs. Marjorie Gardner Gar-dner was hostess to the club, with Lillian Warnick, Martha Christensen, Christen-sen, Clarice Nielson, Alicia Jackson, Jack-son, Lois Maxfield and Agnes Allen present. Refreshments were served, and high score awards made to Mrs. Warnick and Mrs. Christensen, and low score to Mrs. Maxfield. The next club meeting will be with Lois Maxfield on Sept. 5. Mrs. Jennie Miller is making a visit in Wayne County this week. Lee Callister, Nathan Ward, Scott Chesley, N. S. Bassett and Cecil Baker spent the first part of the week fishing at Fish lake and spots near there. H. A. Crane, Claude Crane and Elwin Pace were in Moroni this week, were they had horses entered enter-ed in the -races there. Miss Ruth Hansen, Margaret Hansen and Chris Hansen were in Salt Lake visiting during the week, making the trip and returning on the airliner. Mrs. Carol Jacobson, who is now making her home in Ogden, was in Delta over Sunday. Mrs. Jacobson had served as a stake board member mem-ber for the primary before her departure, de-parture, and was given a book in recognition of her services at Union Un-ion meeting on Sunday. Mrs. B. F. Sampson made a trip to Salt Lake City on Saturday, returning re-turning Tuesday. Her daughter, Mrs. Max Miner, returned with her, and will visit till Friday and then return to Salt Lake City on the airliner. Mrs. Floyd Humphrey and two children, from Texas, visited in Delta this week with Mrs. Harold Black and family. They went on to Salt Lake City and Mrs. Black went with them. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sorenson and their two children returned Tuesday from a trip to Elko, Nevada, Nev-ada, to visit Mr. Sorenson's father. |
