Show HINCKLEY . . . Mrs. Clara Stewart M-S Thos. W. Stephenson and daughter Mildred, of Nephi, spent Sunday with M-S Melvin Robins. M-S Blain Spendlove, Dick Shirt-liff Shirt-liff and M-S Ward Spendlnve attended at-tended the temple excursion Friday Fri-day for elders of Deseret stake. Mrs. Victor Terry and eight children, chil-dren, of Salt Lake, have moved in the John Reeve home north of town. Victor will join his family here as soon as he sells his home in Salt Lake. M-S LeRay Pratt left Thrusday for Ephraim. Mrs. Dean Sidwell and family of Nephi visited with their sister Mrs. DeLoise Robins on Thursday. Miss Helen Blake of Los Angeles, Angel-es, who is attending the BYU, visited vis-ited here Thanksgiving Day. Calvin Warnick, who is a civil engineer at the reclamation office in Salt Lake, was home for the Thanksgiving holiday. M-S John Barton went to Ferrin for the weekend. Mrs. Betty Swensen and family were in Oak City visiting her parents, par-ents, M-S Shipley, last week. There were many families in Hinckley who got together for Thanksgiving. M-S N. R. Stewart's family of 36, George Stewart's of 20, Charles R. Woodbury's family of 20, and Mrs. Emma Spendlove's family of . 24, each enjoyed a turkey tur-key dinner with all the trimmings. M-S Dee Arthur of Cedar City, visited with M-S George Stewart on Thursday. M-S Chester Sly spent the week with Mrs. Sly's parents, M-S Byron By-ron Carter. Juel Moody left for California on Monday. He will spend the winter win-ter with his son Gam. Miss Jean Stewart and Carol Lee Arthur, returned to Cadar City on Saturday. M-S Donald Townsend of Los An-Angeles An-Angeles and two sons, Carl and Jack, who has his discharge from the Navy, are visiting friends and relatives here. Mr.Townsend was once a resident of Delta and some of the nicest homes there were built by Townsned building contractors con-tractors Stevens store, Dr. W. H. Wright's home, W. J. Starley's and others. Heber Bishop came near having a very serious accident. He wah having his pump welded and burned burn-ed his eyes. He didn't realize it at the time, but awoke Friday night in terrible pain and his eyes were totally blind. This condition lasted until Sunday afternoon, when he was able to see again. M-S William J. Webb entertained entertain-ed in honor of their nephew, Van Melville, of Fillmore, at dinner. There were 30 guests present, 14 of which were from Fillmore. M-S Roy P. Hilton drove their car to Corpus Christi, Texas, to to take Mrs. Valeta Hilton and 2 children to join her husband, Ross, who is stationed there. William Jacobson drove down from Provo Sunday to bring his wife, Mildred and two children. They are visiting Mrs. Sarah Slaughter. Pres. Harold Morris received word that his son, Eugene, was on his way home and hoped to reach here by New Year's. Mrs. Georgia Smith and Elaine Dekker entertained In honor of Mrs. Sarah Slaughter on her 75th birthday on Sunday. There were 75 guests called and brought many beautiful and useful gifts. Miss Birdie Lou had a birthday party Saturday night. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served to Marlene Ekins, Julia Keller, Verla Wright, Anna Talbot and Marilyn Palmer. Jex Hyatt of Payson was a guest of Miss Grace Hepworth on Thanks giving Day. Miss Berneice Hepworth accompanied accom-panied her sister, Thola, to Provo, as she was having a minor operation. opera-tion. This Friday afternoon Nephi high school will play H H S in a practice basketball game. Pictures will be taken for the yearbook by Mr. Beckwith on Thursday and Friday of this week. Clayton Stratton, C. A. Stratton and Mrs. Leah Cahoon are in Salt Lake City to be near Mrs. Nelda Stratton, who is seriously ill in the hospital. |
