Show Bond Purchases On Victory Loan Far from Quota Leamington Went Zip; Other Towns Go Phfft i i Bond purchases on the Victory Loan Drive in west Millard are very slowly, too slowly, creeping toward the quota of $105,000. Homer Petersen, chairman, is hopeful hope-ful that through the coming week every family will buy, and buy as many bonds as they can. . Leamington has already exceeded exceed-ed the quota in their drive, but Delta lags, on a quota of $43,000. $2,000 worth were sold at the Crest Theatre Wednesday night of last week. Quite a few were sold at the airport air-port on Thursday, in connection with the "Wings of Victory" demonstration, de-monstration, but when that big bomber blew a tire in landing, it took everyone's mind off buying, the planes went home, they went home, and only a few stayed to help change tires. In connection with the Victory Loan, there will be the program and bond rally at the Delta high school Thursday, Nov. 29, at 1 p. m. and at 2 p. m., which everyone is urged to hear. On the program will be Lt. Harry, Pfc. Thompson, Pfc. Jarvis, and Lt. Goodman, all of whom were wounded in World War II. They will also visit Hinckley Hin-ckley and Lynndyl. |
