Show Feed Situation In Millard County Interest in feeding livestock has reached an all time high this season. sea-son. There are more cattle in Millard Mil-lard county today than there has ever been before in this county. Several thousand head are now on pasture and will soon go into the feed yards. Many of those with cattle are feeding for the first time. A word of caution might be worthwhile. In visiting at the various farms, cattle cat-tle numbers in some cases seemed to exceed the available feed supply. sup-ply. Those who intend to finish the cattle they have at the present time, should by all means, insure themselves ample feed for the period per-iod they intend to keep these cattle. cat-tle. Over a period of years it is questionable if a farmer should ever try to feed more livestock than enough to eat all feed grown on his farm. It is a good policy for the farmers of Millard county to try and feed enough livestock to use the hay and grain grown on their farm. On the other hand, it is equally as good a policy to keep their feeding operations in, balance with the feed suppply. If this is done, no one is going to get hurt. George Whornham, County agent. |
