President of the stake, June W. Black and Mrs. Black were among the many who attended Confer-ence. Cpl. Carlyle Peterson has arrived in the States from Germany.where lie has been the past 17 months. He called his wife, Mrs. LuDean Peterson, from New York City on Saturday, and told her he would expect to be in Delta this week-end. Mr and Mrs. Orran Ash by enter-tained at a going-awa- y dinner on Friday night at their farm for Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Maxfield, Mr. and Mrs. Frank S. Beckwith, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Petersen, and Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Stapley. Bishop and Mrs. Vern Handy of Long beach, Calif., were traveling over the new highway on their way to Conference last week when they broke down near here. Their car was brought to Delta for re-pairs and Bishop and Mrs. Handy went to Conference with Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gardner. On their re-turn here the car was repaired and they 'were able to return to Long Beach. Mr. and Mrs Glen Roberts from Washington, spent the weekend in Delta visiting friends and relatives. Miss Mary Hopkins, of Salt Lake City, spent the weekend here with her sister, Mrs. Richard Peterson.
