D. II. S. News BY ARLENE OGDEN The Delta high school is still going strong, in spite of a little tough luck in the game with Mil-lard Friday. But better luck next time, boys. The halls have really had some stuange characters in lately, with Pep Club initiation and Freshie Day. Thursday was Pep Club initia-tion and the new members were really walking in circles and be-gan thinking the Pep Club wasn't worth their suffering. But about 8 p. m. with a chicken supper pla-ced in front of them, they soon changed their minds. The City Oafe prepared the food for the banquet. Kae Henrie, Ar-le- Ogden and Dorothy Brumley were in charge of the evening, with Miss Bowman as supervisor of the event. The Freshman really had their day, too. Friday morning the stran gest looking characters appeared in the balls, and after a minute of trying to decide what they were the students reached the conclu-sion it was Freshies. This year the Freshmen were welcomed into the school iby the Sophomores instead of being tor-mented, as in previous years. The Freshmen all looked forward tQ Freshie Day instead o'f dreading the event. . Friday evening the Sophomores entertained the school at a social and dance, withthe Freshmen as honored guests. Each Freshie was presented with a corsage of make- - believe carrots made by Mrs. Zola Bunker. Also the crowd was en-tertained with a floor show that was outstanding. Prizes for the best costumes of the day were given to Reo Barley, dressed as a Punjab, Wally Hol-ma- n dressed as Carmen Miranda, and Robert Me Cardell las a clown. We are all looking forward to the game Friday afternoon with Wasatch Academy. Also several boys from Delta high will appear on the fight card Friday night.
