Show Hinckley Plans Big Events For July 23-24 Plans are all made for a rousing rous-ing celebration in Hinckley' on July 23 and July 24, with a rodeo both night ,ball game both days, and parade, program and childrens sports on the 24th. The parade will begin at 9:30 on the morning of the 24th with a number of floats being readied for the big event. I Marshal of the day this year will I be LaVar Owens, of Sutherland, whowill ride in the parade along with the two other county commissioners, com-missioners, Golden H. Black and Mark Johnson. Mr. Owens will also speak on the program, which opens op-ens at ,10:30. Miss Utah was chosen by the town board Tuesday night. She will ride in the parade with her attendants, Dorothy Morris and Kathryn Ekins, and will speak on the program. Miss Utah is Irene Lewis. Horses for the rodeo were got through Ray Skinner, purchased from the reservations at Ibapah and Pocatello. Hinckley town buys new- horses each year specially spec-ially for the annual rodeo. Some Mr. Skinner will buy back, that have proved to be good buckets. Brahma steers and calves are be ing furnished by Matt Cropper. Cowboys will be a Junior section, sec-tion, for all those under 14 years of age, and Senior section, for all over 14. Some local cowboys will be Daryl Taylor, Sheldon Christensen, Jay McDonald, Hugh Judd, Floyd Theobald Parry Taylor, Lyle Stan-worth Stan-worth Duane Stewart and Grant Hardy. Groups are coming from Ogden, Mona, Kaysville, Leamington Leaming-ton and Delta. There will be trophies and prize money in steer riding bulldogging, bareback and saddle broncs, roping rop-ing and a big trophy for all-around cowboy. . All-around cowboy has to enter in three events, and this does .not include wild cow milking. He will be determined by points for every dollar won. The trophies will be on display starting July 15, first in Delta and then in Hinckley. |
